Prayer Reflections Week XVI (July 29-Aug. 4, 2013)

Day 5: "And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the Day of Judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world" 1 John 4:16-18

  • Living in God, our love grows more perfect bec of the holy spirit is in us. Living in God strengthen our faith, and we learned how to face discouragement and failure.-From Verbum dei Prayer Buddies

Day 4: "But you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you" -Jn 15:18-20

  • There are so many things the world is  offering that we can't refuse; power, material positions, pleasures, etc. that often mislead us to the truth of life, the truth that we are Gods masterpiece and are not meant to belong to world but to the Lord. Turning our back on the world because of following christ and facing the humiliation and persecution of the world will always lead us to life eternal.-VD Prayer Buddies

Day 3: Christ suffered for our sins... He died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. 1 Peter 3:18

  • Jesus suffered for the sake of man for this is out of His love for us. As his followers we are called to be like Him that in giving ones life to others is an act of love. We sacrifice our time, efforts, ego and pride as forms of dying to ourselves in bringing many people back to God. My friends remain faithful. - Vd Prayer Buddies

Day 2: Jesus replied "We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them, too. That is why I came." (Mark 1:37-39)

  • Our prayer life would always end in proclaiming the words we listened from God, assimilated and lived out. We cant keep the good things and great experience of God in our Heart because it is meant for others. and it is only in sharing it that we savor the completeness of joy in our heart. Like Jesus do not just bring people to God, But bring God to his people...Speak his word with your life!  - VD Prayer Buddies
  • our life then will become a mirror of who God is. in so doing, God will be known to others - Celia

Day 1: But He Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray. Luke 5:16

  • God as He is, Jesus lived a busy life full of pressures and challenges but He always finds time to pray and listen to His Father. We too are invited to stop and pray. In the midst of our business, let us find a place in the silence of our hearts to listen to God and live out what we hear from His Words. verbum dei prayer buddies
