Prayer Reflections Week VII (May 27- June 2, 2013)

Day 7: " He took bread....blessed them, broke them and gave them to the disciples" - Lk 9:11B-17
  • The Eucharist is a miracle of Love. Love is a miracle and love produces miracles. As his disciple, Jesus invites us to believe that miracles happen when we entrust ourselves to his hands to be like him - blessed, broken and given... - VD Prayer Buddies
Day 6: "love is patient, is kind, is not jealous, is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, does not seek its own interest.... Love never fail"  - 1 Cor. 13:1-8
  • During this week, we were able to see the love of Jesus in us and through us. what quality of love that you can recognize in this week from Jesus? What is the fruit of his love in YOU.

Day 5: 2 Cor. 9:7-8 "You should each give, then as you have decided. not with regret or out of  a sense of duty; for God  loves the one who gives gladly and God is able to give you more than you need so that you will always have all you need for yourselves and more than for every good cause"
  • We cannot imagine how many blessings/gifts we have received from God, we money, power or better reputation but how we use these resources to bring honor and glory to God? Living life to the full when we give ourselves, our time and services to others with all our heart. If you spend your talents or your resources on yourself, you are just surviving. But if you want your life to count, if you want really to live-then GIVE. When God give this gifts he did not mean for our own benefits, but to use it to share and to carry the mission to bring people back to God. - VD Prayer Buddies

Day 4: Sirach 2:1-5 "Gold is tested by fire so as human character is tested in the furnace of humiliation"
  • How many times did we break ourselves trying to move out from our comfort zone for others sake? just continue moving out further and bring out the best in you and God will always be there to help you, after all we are meant to be the best of what God wants us to be. Don't worry we have a model to follow and he cant be wrong....Jesus Christ. -VD Prayer Buddies

Day 3: Romans 5:5 "God has poured out his love into our hearts by means of the holy spirit."
  • God assures us that as we receive Christ he fills our heart with love. With this love you will never lose hope. Don't worry buddy for you are not alone. - VD Prayer Buddies

Day 2:  Jn 13: 14 "I, your Lord and Teacher, have just washed your feet. You, then should wash one another's feet"
  • We all wanted to help other people, especially to our immediate family but we fall short because we think of the big thing and impossible in our current situation. Jesus set us a very doable example to follow. with all humility, Jesus does the work of a servant even if he is the Son of the Most high. Even in our own little way we can give hope and life to others. A simple word of encouragement, appreciation and a smile will make others realize that God does not stop working in our lives. Who's Feet will you wash today? - VD Prayer Buddies

  • Things are difficult to sense when you are looking at them really close. The same things true in life. if you are dealing with anything that just too hard to handle or doesn't seem to make much sense, get a new perspective. Jesus invites us to be at peace for he is with us, through the presence of the holy spirit in our lives. Listen to the Holy Spirit and see things in Jesus perspective.  - Leo

Day1:  "But the spirit produces LOVE" -Gal. 5:22
  • What is real Love for you? The whole life of Jesus is an expression of what real love is, His quality of love is characterized by giving oneself, a love that is 'others' oriented and not self oriented. Today the holy spirit invites us to live with him, to go beyond our usual way of loving that many times is conditional, partial and self-centered. LOVE AND YOU WILL GIVE LOVE TO OTHERS. -VD Prayer Buddies.

Now we go to the part of the Church Calendar called Ordinary Time, the time to apply our Faith to the ordinary days of our life. In the Gospel of Mark, a father with weak faith asks Christ to heal his son. Christ tells him, "Everything is possible to one who has faith."  The father says, "I do believe, help my unbelief!" With this simple prayer, Christ miraculously heals his son. We're still in the Year of Faith until Nov.24, 2013, the end of OrdinaryTime, as Proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI. Need a miracle? Spend more in deepening your faith. Yes, everything is possible to him who truly believes! Amen! - Celia
